How To Measure For Perfect Roman Shades Form?

Need a Roman shade but not sure where to start? We’ve made it simple.

Step 1: Decide Your Mount
First, choose whether you want an inside mount or outside mount.

  • Inside Mount: Ensure at least 2″ of space inside the window trim at the top for the headrail bracket—or 3″ if you want the shade fully recessed. Measure the width of the window at the top, middle, and bottom, and use the narrowest measurement. Measure the height from the top to the bottom inside the trim. Always measure to the nearest 1/8″.

  • Outside Mount: Measure the width from the outside edges of the trim and add 2″ for the finished width. Measure the height from the top to the bottom outside the trim and add 4″ for the finished length.

Feeling unsure? No problem! Simply email us your dimensions using the Roman shade measurement form below, along with a photo of your window, and we’ll handle the rest—ensuring a flawless fit every time.
