How To Measure For Perfect Faux Shades Form?

Choosing the right mount is the first step: inside mount or outside mount.

Inside Mount:

  • Ensure at least 1″ of space inside the window trim at the top for the velcro track hardware.

  • Measure the width of the window from inside trim to inside trim at the top (to the nearest 1/8″).

  • Measure the height from top to bottom inside the trim.

  • We recommend the finished shade length to be 1/4 – 1/3 of your window’s total height. For example, a 45″ tall window would have a shade between 11.25″ – 15″. Hold your tape measure up to see what feels best in your space!

Outside Mount:

  • Measure the width from the outside edges of the trim and add 2″ for the finished width.

  • Measure the height from top to bottom outside the trim and use the same formula above for your desired finished length.
